JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Ahead of GivingTuesday on Nov. 28, long-standing community leaders Greg and Sue Jones have committed to matching dollar-for-dollar the first $1,000 donated to SUNY Jamestown Community College Foundation.
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 to encourage people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. The Jamestown Community College Foundation participates in GivingTuesday as part of its mission to provide direct aid to students and support college programs.
The Joneses are members of the Rotary Club of Jamestown, and were recently awarded the John D. Hamilton Community Service Award by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation for their decades of support of organizations, such as the American Red Cross, Arts Council of Chautauqua County, Chautauqua County Airport Commission, Chautauqua Lake Association, CRCF, Family Service of the Chautauqua Region, Reg Lenna Center for the Arts, United Way of Southern Chautauqua County, Zion Covenant Church and Zonta.
