OLEAN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College Cattaraugus County Campus is providing free eclipse viewing glasses to members of the community and a solar system display with a scavenger hunt in the week leading up to the total solar eclipse on April 8. The scavenger hunt winner will be chosen at random and receive a gift basket.

All are welcome to visit the campus quad April 1-5 and April 8 to view an at-scale model of the solar system, including QR codes that can be scanned for more information about each planet. The college will also hosting a live stream of the eclipse in Cutco Theater in case of inclement weather.

Eclipse information, viewing glasses, and entry forms for the scavenger hunt will be available starting April 1 during regular business hours in the Learning Commons on the first floor of the Library & Liberal Arts Center and the Student Services Center on the first floor of College Center.

The Jamestown Campus, which is located in the path or eclipse totality, will host free family activities from 1-4 p.m. on April 8. Learn more about the event.
