College Connections Art Exhibition Held

JCC hosted the College Connections Student Art Exhibition in JCC’s Weeks Gallery recently.

Best in show was awarded to Drake Greene of Southwestern High School for his photograph, Ce n’est pas un Couteau. The runner-up award was presented to Brytni Taylor of Salamanca Central School for Asa Demi God.

Receiving honorable mention were Elise Swanson, Maple Grove Junior/Senior High School, for Still Life #17; Taylor Gotowka, Dunkirk High School, for Oyster Shell Vase; Amanda Van Houten, Cassadaga Valley Central School, for On My Mind; and Logan Funden, BOCES Center & Technical Education Center at Olean, Ovation.

College Connections, JCC's concurrent enrollment program with regional high schools, is accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships. JCC offers drawing, ceramics, photography, and graphic design courses through College Connections.

Deb Eck, visual artist and a member of JCC fine arts faculty, was the juror for this year’s show, judging 41 works from 10 high schools. Student work was judged on visual communication, design and composition, creativity and originality, and craftsmanship.
