SUNY Jamestown Community College will host its annual Jazz Fest featuring “The Assembly” at 7 p.m. on April 26 in the Scharmann Theatre on the Jamestown Campus.

The group will also lead an improvisation clinic at 6 p.m. in the Scharmann Theatre ahead of their performance. Both the clinic and concert are free and open to the public. Participants in the clinic are encouraged to bring a musical instrument.

“The Assembly” is based right here in Chautauqua County and sure to be a lively, dynamic, multi-faceted musical experience,” said Neil Flory, associate professor of Music at SUNY JCC. “The repertoire ranges over standards in a diverse array of popular and jazz styles, as well as brand-new, original music.”

The group is composed of Lena Morano, vocals; Drew Minton, piano; Chris Tiberio, bass; Kyle Gustafson, guitar and trumpet; Chris Wakefield, trombone; and Roger Chagnon III, percussion.

This event is made possible courtesy of the SUNY JCC Music Department; Faculty Student Association; Division of Arts, Humanities, and Health Sciences; and the College Program Committee.
