Opening Reception & Curator's Talk: "Decipher: Beck Lowry & Alex Paat"

Friday, October 3, 2025 | 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Weeks Gallery hosts a reception and curatorial talk for the opening of "Decipher: Beck Lowry & Alex Paat," an exhibition organized by JCC curator in residence, Erika Diamond. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres. Diamond's curatorial talk about the exhibition and featured artists follows at 6 p.m.

In this pairing of sculptural works, the act of trying to understand or make sense connects the artistic practices of Beck Lowry and Alex Paat. Their compositions present as code or symbols for us to decipher, as each grapples with big questions around connection, spirituality, ritual, and transformation. These works play with dualities like fear and joy, the haptic and the intangible, and image versus object.

The exhibition is free to view, and will be on display at Weeks Gallery through Dec. 5. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays.
