Music Composition and Performance Lecture led by Andy Wen

As part of his May 3-5 residency on the Jamestown Campus, world class saxophonist Andy Wen will lead a lecture covering music composition and performance.

Wen will deliver a solo recital titled "The World of Saxophone"  at 12:20 p.m. May 4 and perform during JCC's Faculty Music Recital at 3 p.m. May 3 and Spring Concert at 7 p.m. May 5. 

He will lead a single-reed woodwind masterclass at 3:30 p.m. May 4 and a lecture on music theory at 8 a.m. May 5.

All events are free and open to the public.

Dr. Andy Wen is a retired music professor, currently teaching privately and performing in San Antonio, Texas with the Pride of San Antonio Showband and the San Antonio Community Wind Ensemble.

In countless performances including concertos with bands and orchestras, solo recitals, and chamber concerts, he has performed in 25 states and 12 countries. He has premiered five concertos that were written for him and has recorded two CDs.

He previously taught at Del Mar College, Millersville University, and the universities of Arkansas at Monticello and Little Rock.
