Adjunct Instructor

I am an instructor at Jamestown Community College, where I teach classes pertaining to sound recording and music technology. When I am not teaching on campus, I work professionally in the music industry as a recording engineer, mixing engineer, and producer. Additionally, I perform in a band, I write/produce my own music, and I am an active member of a local drum and bugle corps.

A graduate of SUNY Fredonia’s esteemed Sound Recording Technology program, I had the privilege of studying under Dr. Bernd Gottinger, Mike Rorick, Greg Snow, and GRAMMY® award-winning producer Dave Fridmann. During my four years spent at Fredonia I worked with several artists and had already begun garnering multiple album credits, including one for engineering on the Band of Horses record, Why Are You OK. Shortly after graduation, I became the first (and only) student ever to be hired by Fridmann out of the Fredonia program. Over the next year, I would work as his assistant engineer at Tarbox Road Studios with dozens of major-label artists including MGMT, HAIM, Mogwai, Vetusta Morla, Solomon Grey, and The Lovely Eggs.

While working as an assistant, I also continued to grow my own discography as a mixing engineer. In April of 2017, I worked with Molly Rankin and Alec O’Hanley, of the Canadian band Alvvays to mix their sophomore album, Antisocialites for Polyvinyl Records. Additionally, I co-mixed a single with Fridmann for The Rentals entitled, “Elon Musk Is Making Me Sad.” Written by Matt Sharp (former bassist of Weezer) and Nick Zinner (guitarist of Yeah Yeah Yeahs), the track was featured in a WIRED article where both Fridmann and I are mentioned.

I began teaching at JCC in the fall of 2017 and have continued to operate out of Tarbox Road Studios as a freelance engineer. Since then, I have worked with several noteworthy artists such as Ra Ra Riot, Joywave, and Rostam Batmanglij (former guitarist of Vampire Weekend). During this time, I have also mixed records for artists based out of Buffalo, NY including dreambeaches and Humble Braggers.
