Assistant Professor
A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, I joined the SUNY system in 2018 as a member of the faculty at Jamestown Community College. I bring more than 25 years of diverse experience in the sports industry, spanning high school, collegiate, and professional athletics, as well as sports park facility management. Prior to JCC, I served for a decade at Mercyhurst University – North East Campus as assistant athletic director, sports information director, and head women’s soccer coach.
My academic background includes bachelor’s degrees in Marketing from Penn State Behrend and Sport Administration from Lock Haven University, a master’s degree in Sport Science/Administration from Lock Haven, and a graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership from Mercyhurst University. As a student-athlete at Penn State Behrend, I was a three-year team captain, three-year all-conference goalkeeper, and a regional All-American for the men’s soccer program. My contributions to athletics have been honored with induction into the Penn State Athletics Hall of Fame (2013) and the North East Athletics Hall of Fame (2019).
As an assistant professor, my teaching and research interests focus on sport coaching and leadership, sport marketing and promotion, and health, fitness, and wellness. I am passionate about preparing students for success in the dynamic and evolving sports industry, blending academic theory with real-world application.
Outside the classroom, I am an avid collector of sports cards and autographs, with the unique privilege of having met more than 750 professional athletes, coaches, and celebrities. A lifelong sports enthusiast, I am a devoted San Antonio Spurs fan, a Buffalo Bills fan by association, an avid reader, and a dedicated Star Wars aficionado. I reside in Erie, Pennsylvania with my wife, Colleen, and our two daughters, Lydia and Georgia.
