Assistant Professor

I have been a professional in the field of human services for over 30 years. I began teaching at JCC in 2003 and became a full-time faculty member in 2012. My work has included counseling for families, couples (marital), groups, and individuals, as well as vocational rehabilitation (evaluation and work adjustment), and as a counselor at a psychiatric unit.

My interests include developing a deeper understanding of 21st century families in order to better prepare students to meet the challenges of the future. I am interested in developing a manual for workers who will be providing in-home services to their clientele, and I have written a draft of a manual for supervisors. During my career, I spent 13 years coaching high school and college hockey, and have self-published six coaching manuals. I continue to serve on the Editors/Academic Advisory Board for "Annual Editions: Drugs, Society, and Behavior," and the 26th and 27th editions were published by McGraw Hill.
