Giving Societies

Support from donors is not only important for the immediate future, but also for the long-term vitality of the college and the thousands of students it serves every year. The giving societies at the JCC Foundation honor donors as they invest in the aspirations of our students, both on an annual basis and throughout their lives. Members of the JCC Foundation giving societies are part of a vital support system in the college's pursuit of excellence. The JCC Foundation publishes a Roll of Donors, along with these giving socieites, in its annual Report to the Community.

Giving Societies & Circles

Lifetime Giving Societies

Lifetime Giving Societies recognize outstanding cumulative giving; that is, the overall sum of a donor’s gifts to Jamestown Community College. These societies encourage donors to build their level of support through the years. The JCC Foundation is deeply appreciative of the central role these donors have played in the founding, growth, and ongoing success of the college.

The Founders Society: $750,000 and above
The Trustees Society: $500,000 to $749,999
The Chairman's Society: $250,000 to $499,999
The President's Society: $100,000 to $249,999

Unless otherwise specified, donors will be recognized prominently in the JCC Annual Report to the Community and on the JCC Foundation website. New inductees will be recognized at the JCC Foundation’s Annual Recognition Dinner

Annual Giving Circles

Annual Giving Circles recognize donors who give to the JCC Foundation each year. These loyal supporters of Jamestown Community College renew their support each year by making annual restricted or unrestricted gifts through The Annual Campaign for JCC during the college’s fiscal year (September 1 to August 30).

Founders Circle: $50,000 to $99,999
Trustees Circle: $25,000 to $49,999
Chairman’s Circle: $10,000 to $24,999
President’s Circle: $1,000 to $9,999
The John D. Hamilton Society: $250 to $999
Friend of JCC: Up to $249

The commitment of these donors will be recognized prominently in the JCC Annual Report to the Community, on the JCC Foundation website, and at the JCC Foundation’s Annual Recognition Dinner. All Circle and John D. Hamilton Society members are invited to special events held by the college and the JCC Foundation.

The John D. Hamilton Society

The John D. Hamilton Society includes and recognizes donors who generously made gifts of between $250 and $999 during the current fiscal year. The society was established in 1995 in recognition of Mr. Hamilton’s exemplary service and dedication to Jamestown Community College. Long active in community affairs, Mr. Hamilton was among the devoted community leaders who worked diligently to see Jamestown Community College chartered in 1950 as the first community college in the State University of New York system. Mr. Hamilton served as the college ’s President and was a member of the JCC Board of Trustees. The JCC Foundation honors Mr. Hamilton and society members for their leadership, philanthropy, and strong commitment to Jamestown Community College. Each year, at the JCC Foundation's Annual Recognition Dinner, an award in Mr. Hamilton's name is given to an individual whose civic contributions exemplify those of Mr. Hamilton.

The Legacy Society

The Legacy Society will recognize individuals who have made deeply personal commitments to JCC through gifts of planned giving. Members of the Legacy Society and their heirs will forever be remembered by future generations of JCC students, alumni, and faculty and staff members. Legacy gifts will help build financial support for future JCC student scholarships, academic programs, and capital initiatives.
