Community Partner Award Announced

Cutco Corporate College, a continuing education program for Cutco Corporation employees, will receive the Community Partner Award during the JCC Foundation’s annual dinner on October 29.

The dinner, which will be held at Premier Banquet Center in Olean, will also honor Jim Stitt, president, chief executive officer, and chairman of Cutco Corporation, as the recipient of the John D. Hamilton Award, presented by the foundation for exemplary service to JCC.

For information on the dinner, contact the JCC Foundation office at 716.376.7513 or foundation@mail.sunyjcc.edu.

The Community Partner Award recognizes the vital role of organizations that work collaboratively with JCC to provide educational, social, cultural, and civic enrichment of the area.

Established in 2000 as a partnership between JCC and Alcas Corporation (later renamed Cutco Corporation), Cutco Corporate College is designed to promote education among its employees through skills development and customized training. Cutco employees are encouraged to attain either a Cutco College Certificate or an associate degree.

Since its inception, over 100 employees have successfully completed a variety of courses through Cutco Corporate College. Classes have been offered on site and during the work day.

JCC also collaborates with Cliffstar Corporation in Dunkirk and DFT Communications in Fredonia to provide programming similar to Cutco Corporate College.

The JCC Foundation is a private, non-profit organization formed in 1983 to manage contributions made on behalf of JCC and to allocate the funds to JCC programs or events which are not included in the college's operating expense budget. JCC Foundation funds are used to support scholarships, faculty development, cultural events, acquisition of instructional resources, and special programs for students, faculty, and the community.
