The JCC Alumni Association honored several “Alumni Nurses of Distinction” at a recent dinner. Each honoree was nominated by his or her employer.
The annual recognition is designed to honor nursing graduates who have distinguished themselves as healthcare providers. The award has been presented to over 80 outstanding alumni since its inception.
The program also featured guest speaker Linda Q. Thede who discussed the need for an electronic health record and the role nurses can have in planning the record.
Honorees included Lori Button '83, registered nurse in the residential program at The ReHabilitation Center; Kathy Dillenburg '06, clinical education and informatics coordinator at Brooks Memorial Hospital; Debbie Flasher '99, supervising RN at The Resource Center; Valerie Furman '94, nursing supervisor at Bradford Regional Medical Center; Phil Lawrie '06, floor nurse at Brooks Memorial Hospital; Deborah Parker '77, primary preceptor for all new registered nurses at WCA Hospital; Constance Renzi '89, MDS coordinator at Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing; Rebecca Sharp-McMillen '05, ER staff nurse at Warren General Hospital; Kathy Perkins '91, post-anesthesia care unit nurse, nurse supervisor, and pain clinic RN at Bradford Regional Medical Center; and Kelly Whitver '95, assistant professor of nursing at JCC.
