Each year the league honors outstanding innovations which represent capstone achievements and the continuing renewal of the spirit of innovation and experimentation upon which the league was founded.

In considering projects for "Innovation of the Year" status, the league reviews nominations for quality, cost effectiveness, timeliness, efficiency, creativity, and the ability of the project to be replicated elsewhere within colleges and universities.

Announcement Regarding Student Data on SunGard Laptop

Jamestown Community College was informed that a laptop computer containing private identifiable information associated with the college was stolen. The laptop was owned by a consultant from SunGard, a Pennsylvania-based company that provides the records system used at JCC and more than 1600 other colleges and universities worldwide. SunGard believes that the laptop was stolen for its hardware value rather than the data and notes that the laptop was heavily password protected. The computer has not been recovered.
JCC student records on the laptop were associated with students who had interactions with the college between 2001 and 2003 only.

The All-USA Academic Team program recognizes 60 outstanding two-year college students. First, second, and third teams, each consisting of 20 members, are selected.
