The JCC Cattaraugus County Campus Alumni Association will hold a Holiday Marketplace & Handmade Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 19 at Good Times of Olean at 800 E. State St. Proceeds from the event benefit the association’s scholarship program.

Area high school students are invited to participate in Shadow Day at JCC’s Jamestown Campus on October 26.

Participants can shadow a JCC student for the morning, afternoon, or entire day, attending classes, touring the campus, and eating in JCC’s newly renovated dining area. JCC’s campus life program will be sponsoring its annual Fall Fest during the noon hour.

Several students were awarded degrees or certificates from JCC's Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses in August 2016.

One student earned highest honors (4.0 GPA), six students earned high honors (3.50-3.99 GPA), and five students earned honors (3.25-3.49 GPA).

Seven, a documentary play dramatizing the struggles of seven global women who have overcome massive obstacles, will be performed at 6 p.m. on October 14 in JCC's Scharmann Theatre.

The performance is free and open to the public. Seven is produced by the LakeArts Foundation in association with the State University of New York at Fredonia, Venture Productions, and JCC’s Weeks Gallery.

JCC’s Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean will hold an open house for prospective students, their families, and others from 9 a.m. to noon on October 15.

Participants are encouraged to interact with JCC faculty during presentations on academic programs, career opportunities, and transferability options.

Information on admission and financial aid procedures, JCC’s honors program, and options for undecided students will be available. Guided campus tours are offered throughout the open house.

The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting celebrating renovations to the dining area on JCC’s Jamestown Campus at 10:30 a.m. on September 20.

Located in the Hamilton Collegiate Center, the dining area has undergone a complete redesign to improve customer experience and increase usage of the space.

Renovations began in summer 2015 with the installation of upgraded refrigeration and oven equipment. Repairs and infrastructure improvements were also made to the kitchen, an area that had not been updated in several decades.

The cast of Cabaret, JCC’s fall theatre production, has been announced by director Bob Schlick.

The cast includes JCC students Brayton Lydell, Joshua Carlson, Taylor Smetska, Emily Hanson, Chloe Kilmartin, Gordon Brooks, William Gilroy, Ben Gross, Caitlin McCall, and Hillary Hornyak and community members Michael Correy, Tristan May, Jessica Hochstine, Lauren Engallina, Haeli Augenstein, and Teal Weatherley.

Cabaret, adapted from the novel Goodbye to Berlin, is set in Berlin in 1931 as the Nazis are rising to power.

JCC and the Chautauqua County Counselors Association will host the 40th annual College & Career Night on Wednesday, October 5, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Physical Education Complex on JCC’s Jamestown Campus.

The program offers high school students, their parents, and community members the opportunity to gather information about educational institutions and career possibilities. Representatives from various colleges and career areas are expected to attend the event.

The inaugural JCC Willie Rosas Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship Gala will be held September 17 at St. Hedwig’s Social Center in Dunkirk.

The event, which begins with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m., includes dinner and live music by Johnny Ray and the Salsa Con Clase Orchestra.

Admission to the event is $10. Tickets can be obtained by calling Jamestown Community College’s North County Center, 716.363.6500.

The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting for the new Manufacturing Technology Institute on JCC’s Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean at 11 a.m. on September 15.

Guided tours of the 20,000-square foot facility will be conducted from noon to 1 p.m.
