Kendyl Austin of Lakewood was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division III volleyball All-American honorable mention list recently.
Austin, a sophomore at JCC, competed as an outside hitter during JCC’s 2017 and 2018 seasons. The team won regional titles both years, advancing to a seventh place finish each time in the national championship.
Austin led JCC with 414 kills and 501 points and had 261 digs during the Jayhawks’ 28-4 season in 2018. She was also named NJCAA Region 3 Division III Player of the Year and was a member of the Western New York Athletic Conference first team.
