Experiential Learning

Experiential learning at JCC takes many forms:

  • Service,
  • Internships,
  • Study Abroad,
  • Simulations,
  • Undergraduate Research,
  • and more!

Experiential learning is an inquiry-based method of learning that involves periods of activity and reflection. It helps students recognize themselves as active learners, and provides a context for their studies. It also gives students a hands-on, real-world opportunity to practice and learn skills, and to network with potential employers.

At JCC, students can engage in experiential learning by enrolling in an EL-intensive course or program of study, taking a credit-bearing or non-credit-bearing internship, joining an active club, studying abroad, or volunteering.
