CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

Full refunds are issued in the following instances:

  • JCC cancels the program/class.
  • Participant cancels up to three business days prior to the start of the class. Substitutions are accepted any time by contacting the office at 716.338.1005 or WRjamestown@mail.sunyjcc.edu

Refunds are issued by credit to the card used or by check.

Applied Emotional Intelligence (via Zoom)

Research reveals that up to 58% of one's success in the workplace is attributed to emotional intelligence. This engaging workshop will explore the important role that emotional intelligence plays in your life and how it can be refined for greater success in any setting. We will address the basic concepts that inform emotional intelligence, the value of self-awareness, understanding those around you, controlling your emotions, and managing your biases.

Successful Supervision Certificate

The Successful Supervision Certificate program is designed to help existing supervisors build on their skills and experiences in order to become more effective in their role. Participants will learn about their own leadership strengths and identify areas for growth, to communicate more effectively, to get work done through others, and become better leaders overall to drive improved outcomes for their organization.

This comprehensive 6-week program is a combination of lecture, hands-on exercises, group exercises, and tools for future success. Participants will have a pre-class assignment before each session and will receive a one hour 1-on-1 coaching session with the instructor after completing the program. The coaching session will give the participant an opportunity to share their progress and areas where they need more focus. The coaching session will take place through ZOOM. 

This program is for supervisors who have been in their role for at least 6 months or longer.

  • Module 3 – Understanding Personalities in the Workplace
  • Module 4 – Effective Communication

Day 3

  • Module 5 – Getting the Work Done Through Others

  • Module 8 – Team Building

Day 5

  • Module 9 – Legal Aspects of Supervision
  • Module 10 – Performance Reviews, Feedback & Discipline

Day 6

  • Module 11 – Managing Change Transitions
  • Module 12 – Successful Supervision in Action

*The 1-on-1 coaching session will be scheduled at the participant’s convenience after the program.

Team Lead Training

The Team Lead Training Program focuses on the skills needed by emerging, new, or recently appointed team leaders or first line supervisors. The program is ideal for employees who are new to planning, coordinating, and directing the work of others. 

This comprehensive 4-day program is a combination of lecture, hands-on exercises, group exercises, and tools for future success. Participants will have a pre-class assignment before each session and will receive a one hour 1-on-1 coaching session with the instructor after completing the program. The coaching session will give the participant an opportunity to share their progress and areas where they need more focus. The coaching session will take place through ZOOM.
