Financial Aid for Study Abroad

Money for study abroad

Travel can be expensive. Studying abroad while in college not only lets you earn college credits toward graduation, but can also help offset typical travel costs by letting you use your JCC financial aid.

In order to see how funds can be used, you should begin the process by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible. Try to file the FAFSA by March 1 for programs beginning in the fall and by September 1 for those in the spring.

We also recommend that students studying abroad should designate a family member as power of attorney to negotiation of financial aid funds while abroad.
