Workforce Readiness Scholarship

NYS resident tuition, fees, books and program supplies less Pell, TAP, PHEAA and tuition waivers for full-time study of at least 12 credit hours/semester, up to a maximum award of $7,500
Preference given to those who file admission and FAFSA applications by March 1.
Students must: • be admitted to a Manufacturing Technology Institute (MTI) certificate program. • apply for federal and state financial aid by filing the FAFSA and New York state TAP (NYS residents) or PHEAA (PA residents) applications by March 1. • interview and a written recommendation from a BOCES or high school teacher or counselor addressing areas such as interest in technology, understanding of and commitment to certificate completion, work ethic, and attendance (i.e. meeting class deadlines, teamwork). • demonstrated mechanical aptitude as evidenced by performance results on the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test. • have a high school average of at least 75% at the time of application. • be a graduate from accredited high schools in Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Warren, Forest, Potter, McKean, Elk, or Cameron counties and in Corry and North East, PA with a focus toward students attending BOCES and high school technology academies. (P-TECH students are excluded.)
Two consecutive semesters for fall and spring semesters only. Students must enroll in, and complete, at least 12 credits each semester with a minimum 2.0 semester and cumulative grade point average to maintain eligibility to receive this award in a subsequent semester.
