Library Services for Alumni & Community Members

The JCC Libraries' are committed to providing all students, faculty, staff, and community residents with access to the library resources and services they require for their academic, professional, and research needs.  JCC Alumni and community members are eligible to use the libraries at both JCC campuses. Please stop by the Circulation Desk at either library and get your courtesy (library) card.  You will need to present personal ID and proof of current address to receive your library card.  Your library card entitles you to borrow books, periodicals, DVDs and other materials from the libraries' loanable collections.

JCC Alumni & Community Use of Library Computers:

JCC students, faculty, and staff have priority in the use of the libraries' PC workstations.  Please check at the Reference or Circulation Desk for login information and workstation availability.

All users are charged $.10 per page for printing.  Printouts can be paid for and retrieved at the Circulation Desk.

Access to Online Resources:

JCC Alumni and community members have access to the JCC Libraries' full collection of online resources from workstations in either of the campus libraries.  Due to licensing restrictions, the libraries are not able to provide off-campus access to the libraries' collection of online resources to JCC Alumni and community members.

Residents of the college's service area have access to a number of online resources through state-wide initiatives.

New York State residents can take advantage of NOVELNY (New York Online Virual Electronic Library), an online library of literally hundreds of magazines, newspapers, maps, charts, research and reference books. This collection of resources is freely accessible to anyone with a public library card from a New York State library, New York driver license, or non-driver ID. It is made available through the New York State Library.

Residents of Pennsylvania can take advantage of Access PA POWER Library (POWER= Pennsylvania Online World of Electronic Resources). Any PA resident with a valid library card can access these resources from a participating library website. POWER library provides access to full-text articles from periodicals, newspapers and reference materials, plus photographs, charts, and maps. For more information visit accesspa.org.

Online resources in these state-wide collections can be accessed from the libraries' A-Z Databases LibGuide.  Look for the community resident databases iconicon to find the databases available in the New York and Pennsylvania state-wide collections.
