Fieldwork Coordinator, OTA; Assistant Professor, OTA

I have the amazing opportunity to teach in the classroom and also coordinate, support, and supervise students during their fieldwork experiences in the community. It is so important for students to not only learn from books, lectures, and other professional resources, but also from the experiences of real OT practitioners who have worked with clients of all ages, conditions, and circumstances. My ultimate goal is to reinforce respect in all areas of work and life, including in the classroom and during preparation for entry into professional life. I strive to teach and model both course content and the “soft skills” of effective communication, collaboration, and initiative. We all infuse our unique style and talents into our work in occupational therapy. I strive to support and nurture what our students bring to the table.

I started my career in special education, where I provided developmental care to children from birth-3 and their families in home-, center-, and hospital-based settings. As a staff OT, I have worked in acute care, skilled nursing, and the neonatal intensive care unit. I have been the academic fieldwork coordinator and adjunct instructor in a 5-year master’s level OT program. I am a licensed OTR in both New York and Pennsylvania and am a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) as well as the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association (POTA).
