Tropical Biology

Tropical Biology in the spring

Our spring 2019 Tropical Biology travel course was a great experience! Stay tuned to hear about our next upcoming trip.

BIO 2620: Tropical Biology is a three-credit hour course. Students will learn about South and Central American tropical habitats, including rainforests, coral reefs, mangrove swamps, and Caribbean coastal shore areas, via classroom lectures and travel to Costa Rica and Panama during spring recess. You'll spend 10 days in Costa Rica and Panama, exploring the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforests and snorkeling over coral reefs. From pink tink frogs and howler monkeys to toucans, butterflies, parrotfish, fire coral, and more, the biodiversity will astound you!
