Students will examine leader behavior through an ethical lens based on case studies of past and present events in the business, educational, political, and sporting worlds. The leadership role of a sport or recreation manger, athletic administration, or fitness promotion professional in supervising subordinates and directing volunteers and other personnel within an organization will be chronicled. Students will be introduced to the basic psychological and physiological principles of integrated performance in coaching. Students will gain exposure to sport science areas, such as: mind body connection, right brain-left brain dominance, outcome motivation, conceptualization and visualization, and connecting those areas together to sustain excellence as a coach. Fundamentals-Sport Officiating — 3548
SPT 7003 – 1 credit

Students will develop an understanding of the fundamentals of officiating sports. Students are introduced to the major concepts, ideas and applications of officiating, not focusing on one specific sport, but sports in general. This course will build a foundation to prepare students to pursue licensure in a specific sport of their choosing at the local, state or national level upon completion of this course. Students will also receive their NFHS officiating certificate upon completion of this course. No requisites. Online. Master Course Syllabus
