Students will examine leader behavior through an ethical lens based on case studies of past and present events in the business, educational, political, and sporting worlds. The leadership role of a sport or recreation manger, athletic administration, or fitness promotion professional in supervising subordinates and directing volunteers and other personnel within an organization will be chronicled. Students will be introduced to the basic psychological and physiological principles of integrated performance in coaching. Students will gain exposure to sport science areas, such as: mind body connection, right brain-left brain dominance, outcome motivation, conceptualization and visualization, and connecting those areas together to sustain excellence as a coach.
