Students will create a new body of art or design work in their chosen concentration (painting and drawing, photography and related media, video, printmaking, ceramic/sculpture, computer art, and graphic design). Interdisciplinary and collaborative projects are encouraged. At the end of the semester each student is expected to exhibit their new art or design work at an on or off-campus art venue. For this group exhibition, students are required to co-curate and organize the event with the guidance of the instructor. Throughout the semester, students will also learn how to prepare for a career in the arts and creative field. Information concerning documenting artwork, disseminating artwork samples, as well as applying to jobs or transferring, artist residencies, grants, awards, fellowships, and art and design-related employment opportunities will be covered in this course. At the end of the semester, students will complete a portfolio documenting their work, an artist or design statement, and a cv/resume. Prerequisite: At least one studio course or permission of the instructor. Master Course Syllabus
