Tropical Biology: spring 2019

Join our biology department for our upcoming spring travel course, BIO 2620: Tropical Biology. You'll spend 10 days in Costa Rica and Panama, exploring the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforests and snorkeling over coral reefs. From pink tink frogs and howler monkeys to toucans, butterflies, parrotfish, fire coral, and more, the biodiversity will astound you!

  • Class dates: February 22-May 3, 2019, 1-4 p.m. on Fridays
  • Trip dates: March 27-April 7, 2019

About the course

BIO 2620: Tropical Biology is a three-credit hour course. Students will learn about South and Central American tropical habitats, including rainforests, coral reefs, mangrove swamps, and Caribbean coastal shore areas, via classroom lectures and travel to Costa Rica and Panama during spring recess.
