The mission of Campus Life at Jamestown Community College is to design and promote out of classroom opportunities, experiences, and services for students that will allow for academic, personal, and professional development. Collaborative campus life programming at JCC allows you to participate in a variety of co-curricular and social options that support the mission of the college, complement academic programs, and enhance your overall educational experience.
Every week, you can choose to participate in Activity Hour, during which very few classes are scheduled. Activity hour is every Monday and Wednesday from 12 – 1:15 p.m. during the semester. At this time, a variety of events and activities are available across our campuses, including Student Senate meetings, student clubs and organizations meetings, intramural sports and recreation, as well as student activities including live performances from musicians and comedians, speakers, blood drives, films, festivals, and picnics. Other ways you can get involved outside the classroom at JCC include athletics, visual arts, performing arts, and residence life programs (for on-campus residents on the Jamestown Campus). The Campus Activity Board (CAB) and the College Program Committee are responsible for bringing social and cultural activities to each campus. The CAB is composed of only students while the College Program Committee is composed of faculty, staff, and students. The college also has several other committees that students can serve on as representatives of the student body.
