Aimee Brunelle, MS, ATC

Aimee BrunelleAimee has been the Athletic Trainer at JCC (Jamestown Campus) since 1999. A graduate of Stony Brook University, she earned her Bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies with concentrations in biology and physical education. She has completed a Master’s degree in education from Capella University, and a Post-Master’s certificate in sport psychology from the California University of Pennsylvania. Her responsibilities at JCC include caring for over 150 student-athletes on 11 teams.

Brunelle is also an adjunct instructor in the physical education studies program, teaching Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Introduction to Physical Education, Sport Nutrition, Principles of Health & Wellness, and Sport Psychology. In May of 2009, she received the JCC Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Award.

Prior to her arrival to JCC, she was employed as the Assistant Head Athletic Trainer with McLaren Sports Medicine in Flint, Michigan, where she worked with the athletic teams at Mt. Morris and Birch Run High Schools.

Brunelle has been a NATABOC certified athletic trainer since 1996 and became an NYS-certified athletic trainer in 2000. She has been an American Red Cross instructor since 2003. In early 2012, Brunelle was voted in as President-Elect of the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association (NYSATA). She will take office as President from 2014-2016.

Michael Mitchell, MD

Dr. Mitchell is a graduate of Penn State University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania, completed a fellowship in the Department of Orthopedics at the Cleveland Clinic, and completed a residency in the Department of Family Medicine at Hamot Medical Center (Erie, PA).

He holds positions as the Director of the WCA Sports Medicine and Wellness Program, Medical Director for Heritage Ministries, and School Physician for the Falconer School District. Dr. Mitchell also serves as the team physician for the Jamestown Jammers, the Class A Affiliate of the Florida Marlins. He is a Charter Member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and Medical Director of Hospice for Southern Chautauqua County.

Dr. Mitchell, who has practiced in the Jamestown area since 1985, has been the Team Physician for JCC since 1991.
