Job Focus: Responsible for operation of secondary machine while ensuring total process/quality control during the production of all parts.

Job Duties

  • Set-Up, monitor, adjust, and operate secondary operations machinery
  • Focus on reducing job set-up time and increasing net production of all jobs.
  • Accept and understand responsibility for the quality of all parts produced
  • Assist other Machining Specialists as necessary (working as a Team) to maximize production thru-put within the Department.
  • Monitor your machines and follow maintenance processes to ensure proper performance. 
  • Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools perform precision machine operations.
  • Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
  • Set controls to regulate machine.
  • Strive to develop innovative ideas and techniques to improve process and/or quality.


  • Ability to read and understand basic material written in the English language
  • Understanding of basic mathematical concepts and problem solving using logic
  • Solid mechanical ability
  • Prefer experience in a manufacturing environment

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use fingers, hands, and arms to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine controls to exact position, grasp, and manipulate very small parts and hold machinery and parts in a steady pattern
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and move materials weighing zero to 75 pounds
  • Ability to visually use all tools, gages and material associated with the operation of machines
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, sit and move to operate machines and move around facility
