Responsibilities: 
  • Strategic Planning and Leadership: Leads the organization through a strategic planning process that sets goals with measurable outcome-based objectives for the future growth of the organization. You will oversee the implementation of the plan to ensure ACNC is best serving the community
  • Fiscal Management and Development: Ensure sound financial management through developing relationships within the wider community. As the spokeperson of the organization, you will represent ACNC at community organizations and public functions. The President speaks knowledgeably on ACNC's mission, programs, and the future to the wider community.
  • Buildings and Grounds Management: The President has overall responsibility for the buildings, grounds, and the physical plant. Working with the builfing and grounds manager, staff, and the Land Use Management Committee, you will provide oversight for 600 acres, a three-story nature center, and buildings
  • Personnel Management: The President oversees the hiring, supervision and evaluation of a small, passionate staff. You will also cultivate and maintain volunteer relationships. An ideal candidate will inspire a diverse group of staff and dedicated volunteers to be creative, to problem solve, and to complete diverse tasks
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's preferred)
  • Five years of management experience, preferably in a nature center setting
  • Broad management skills
  • Experience in facility management
  • Natural history and/or education background preferred
  • Experience in working with Doubleknot or a similar constituent relationship management system preferred
  • Land management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks or a similar financial software preferred
