The Health Information Technology certificate at Jamestown Community College prepares you for employment in medical offices and health information departments. You can immediately enter the workforce with your associate’s degree and pursue careers in medical transcription and documentation, medical coding, medical insurance and billing, and records management.

JCC’s HIT program emphasizes in-demand medical and healthcare skills. You’ll study office communications, terminology, coding, documentation, transcription, insurance, and electronic health records (EHRs) management. Some of your courses will feature Virtual Lab (VLab), an online platform for health education and case practice with industry-standard technology. You’ll also complete an internship in a professional healthcare setting.
