Matriculated (Degree Seeking) Students
Matriculation is the formal process by which students declare their intent to enroll in a college certificate or degree program. The process is complete once the student submits an application, with supporting documentation (official transcripts,GED, placement test scores, etc.), and has been accepted to JCC in a certificate or degree program. Federal and state financial aid is not available to non-matriculated students.
Application for admission may be initiated at any time prior to the start of each semester, but admission cannot be guaranteed for applicants who begin the process after August 1 (for the fall semester). High school seniors, especially those concerned about admission to specific programs, should apply shortly after the beginning of their senior year. In some programs, such as nursing and occupational therapy assistant, students should consider early application deadlines, and limited enrollment. Therefore, early application is of prime importance.
