Office technology students are introduced to the elements and characteristics of a dynamic system of business. The focus of these programs is skill building in the areas of keyboarding, word processing, office communications and procedures, professional quality document production, time and work management, decision making, and problem solving.
You'll be introduced to basic accounting practices used in business today. Your computer skills will be thoroughly developed in a contemporary, simulated office setting as you work with commands common to windows applications, spreadsheets, and electronic mail systems. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in making presentations to management, using the Internet, and producing a company newsletter.
The office technology curriculum is continually evaluated and updated so that JCC students are prepared for the challenges of tomorrow's office environment.
Career and Transfer Opportunities
When you complete either the certificate or associate degree program, you'll find JCC ready to match your abilities and interests with employers' needs.
Should you choose to continue your college education, you'll be able to apply the credits you earn in the certificate program toward the associate in applied science degree in office technology. Those who complete the degree program will be able to transfer credits to a four-year institution.
