Jamestown Community College is a premiere center for the arts in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. Drawing on the talents of its faculty and students, the arts form a vital part of the educational experience at JCC. Whether it's a play or music concert in the Scharmann Theatre or an exhibition in the Weeks Gallery , we provide plenty of opportunities for you to express your artistic side and show off your creative talents to the world.
All students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to join one of several music groups and ensembles without audition. Led by many of the faculty members from the fine arts: music degree program, JCC currently offers four credit-bearing ensembles , including:
The Weeks Gallery on the Jamestown Campus and the Center Gallery on the Cattaraugus County Campus both strive to provide the Western New York community with high quality programming and serve as a venue where the next generation of artists can display their work. And, through the Museum Without Walls program , the galleries are able to bring the visual arts to every corner of campus.
The JCC Uncommoners , our theatrical group and production company, produce two shows each year in the Scharmann Theatre on the Jamestown Campus. Past shows have included everything from Legally Blonde: The Musical (photos ) to Of Mice and Men to The Who's Tommy (photos ). Uncommoners productions are open to area students and community members. Actors, musicians, and crew are welcome to audition. The Cutco Theater on the Cattaraugus County Campus hosts theatrical and musical performances throughout the year as well.
