Thinking about a career as a radio announcer? Though this career typically does not require education beyond high school, an associate or bachelor’s degree may be required by some employers. Jamestown Community College can prepare you for this career through our Associate in Science, Media Arts or Associate in Science, Communicaitons degree. These degrees can prepare students for radio announcing careers by providing courses in public speaking, communication and media. They can also be transferred to four-year institutions offering degrees in communications, public relations and related majors. Students taking this option should work closely with a faculty advisor to determine which degree program would best meet their career and transfer needs.
