Johnston Named Interim Dean at Cattaraugus County Campus

Jeanne L. Johnston of Olean has been named interim dean of JCC's Cattaraugus County Campus.
In making his selection, JCC President Gregory T. DeCinque praised Ms. Johnston's academic leadership along with her strong involvement in the Olean community. Currently serving as assistant dean of business and social sciences, Ms. Johnston will continue those duties as well as daily oversight of the campus in Olean.

"We recognize the vital role JCC plays in both the economy of the area as well as the lives of our students," Dr. DeCinque stated. "We needed a dean of the campus who is connected to the students academically as well as strongly tied to the community. I am very happy we found both of those qualities in Ms. Johnston."

Hired at JCC in 2001 to teach office technology and medical office technology, Ms. Johnston earned a bachelor's degree at Empire State College and a master’s degree at Buffalo State College. She is a member of Leadership Cattaraugus, Class of 2008, and Zonta International.

Ms. Johnston is also a former member of the Archbishop Walsh High School board of trustees, a former faculty member and administrator at Olean Business Institute, and has been a volunteer for the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce Rally in the Valley.
