JCC has successfully won a fourth bid to host the National Junior College Athletic Association men's Division 3 golf championships at Chautauqua Golf Club for another three years.
JCC and the JCC Faculty Student Association, which have sponsored the tournament for nine years, are preparing for the June 1-5, 2009, June 7-11, 2010, and June 6-10, 2011 tourneys.
"I am thrilled that the NJCAA championship events committee approved our proposal once again," said Greg Fish, JCC FSA executive director and tournament director. "The fact that we will be hosting it for another three years is a sign of continued confidence in the leadership of JCC and Chautauqua Golf Club to coordinate such a prestigious event."
Tournament qualifiers have come from colleges in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Texas, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. The tournament traditionally draws over 100 golfers and over 300 spectators, including coaches.
