Phi Theta Kappa Inductions Held

Ninety-seven students at JCC’s Jamestown Campus were inducted into the Alpha Kappa Beta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the national two-year college honor fraternity, on February 27.

Robert B. Anderson, a JCC alumnus from the class of 1990 and principal of Gowanda High School, was the guest speaker.

A student must achieve at least a 3.50 grade point average to be considered for induction and must have two faculty recommendations.

Several students at JCC’s Cattaraugus County Campus were inducted into the Alpha Psi Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on March 6. Dominic Rogers was the guest speaker for the induction ceremony.

Phi Theta Kappa is a national honor society for two-year colleges. Inductees must have a grade point average of at least 3.5, be recommended by two faculty members, and have completed at least 15 credit hours toward a degree. Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college students by providing opportunity for the development of leadership and service, an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, and stimulating interest in continuing academic excellence.
