Prospective students interested in on-campus housing can tour a model suite in the new Jamestown Campus Hillside Suites.

Tours are available by appointment only between 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
"The contractors have released a first floor suite in the south building for guided tours," said Harry Watters, JCC's director of residence life. "The suite is fully furnished, and we're eager to show it off." To schedule an appointment, students should contact Watters at 716/338-1188 or via e-mail at residencelife@mail.sunyjcc.edu.

According to Watters, Hillside Suites North and South will include accommodations for 220 students and will be ready for occupancy for the beginning of the fall semester. Most suites include single bedrooms, but a limited number of doubles are also available. Each suite includes a living room, kitchenette, and two bathrooms.

"Residential living has been shown to have a positive impact on academic success and persistence," Watters said. "The community provided in a residence hall allows the student to build strong peer networks and to explore academic, social, professional, and recreational interests which enhance the overall learning experience. Students who reside in an on-campus environment have an easier time becoming involved with the college experience, are better able to access campus services, and are more likely to find support for academic and career goals."
