Residents of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Warren counties are invited to submit up to three original works to JCC's Four-County Poet Competition. Entrants must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2008.
Participants can submit one packet of three unpublished original poems by the July 1 deadline. Initial judging will be conducted by JCC faculty with finalists' poems sent to a published poet for selection of winners. Monetary awards will be presented to the grand prize winner and first and second runners-up. The winning poems will be featured on JCC's website after the 2008-09 academic year begins August 25.
Joseph Dolan of Warren County and Gerry Crinnin and Anne Smith of Chautauqua County were the winners of the first Four-County Poet Competition in 2006.
