People’s Law Series Begins March 3 In Jamestown

The People’s Law series, featuring important legal topics presented by area attorneys, will be offered at JCC’s Jamestown Campus during March and April. Sessions meet from 6-9 p.m.

Tuition for the entire non-credit series is $45, or $10 per session. To register, call JCC’s Center for Continuing Education, 716/338-1005. The series is sponsored by JCC, the Robert H. Jackson Center Inn of Court, and the Jamestown Bar Association.

Real Property Issues, offered March 3, examines legal strategies to prevent mortgage foreclosure of one’s home or business. Methods to challenge excessive property assessments will be discussed also.

A variety of issues will be explored in a labor and employment law session for workers and employers on March 10.

Types of courts and the functions they serve are outlined in the Knowing Your Local Courts program on March 16.

Understanding Bankruptcy and Debt Collection Laws will be the focus of the March 24 program. On March 31, participants in Understanding Medicare/Medicaid/Social Services will learn how to access those programs.

Protecting a driver’s license and avoiding an unexpected license suspension will examined in the Vehicle and Traffic Law program on April 7.
