Area residents are invited to share comments during a public forum to be held as the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) reviews the Associate in Applied Science degree program in nursing at JCC for continuing accreditation.
“Comments are welcome from the healthcare community, students, alumni, and the public at-large,” said Dawn Columbare, JCC’s director of nursing education. “This is part of the NLNAC’s ongoing effort to make the accreditation process responsive to a broad range of constituents.”
Using interactive technology, the public forum will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, in Room 163 of the Hultquist Library on the Jamestown Campus, Room 103 of the Allied Health and Science Center on the Cattaraugus County Campus in Olean, and Room 123 of the North County Conference and Training Center in Dunkirk.
Individuals wishing to comment on the program may come and go any time during the hour. In addition, the public may submit comments in writing to NLNAC by mail to 61 Broadway, 33rd Floor, New York, NY 10006. Comments received by NLNAC will be shared with the nurse administrator and the site visit team.
According to Ms. Columbare, the site visit team will be comprised of two nursing professionals. JCC’s NLNAC accreditation review, last completed in 2001, is expected to be completed this summer and includes an extensive self-study process.
