The women’s soccer program returns to JCC for fall 2019.

Following a season in hiatus, JCC president Daniel DeMarte has announced that the women’s soccer program will again be part of the Jayhawks athletic program.

“Women’s soccer has and will continue to play a major role in attracting athletes from our community,” said Dr. DeMarte. “We look forward to watching the program return to the success it has enjoyed in the past.”

Thomas Harrington of Warren, PA has been hired as the program’s head coach.

“I am extremely excited to have this opportunity to build a new chapter in the women’s soccer program at JCC,” said Harrington. “My staff and I look forward to the challenge of not only recruiting good players, but also solid students and quality people who can and will make a difference both on and off the pitch at JCC.”

Harrington previously coached the Warren Area High School soccer team for six years. His teams won five regional titles, two district titles, and qualified for state championships three times. He completed his tenure at WAHS with a career record of 87 wins, 32 losses, and one tie, an impressive winning percentage of .729 over six seasons.

Harrington has held the positions of both head coach and director of coaching for the Kinzua Soccer Club, and has coached numerous indoor soccer teams. He is currently the director of the Warren YMCA Youth Soccer Camp.

“We are pleased to find such a quality coach in our community to embrace this opportunity,” stated JCC athletic director George Sisson. “I look forward to supporting Tom and his staff in achieving success.”

The JCC women’s soccer program competes at the NJCAA Region III Division III level. Individuals interested in becoming part of the team should contact Sisson at 716.338.1269 or georgesisson@mail.sunyjcc.edu.
