Works by 16 JCC students were honored with awards during the opening of the annual student art exhibition in the Weeks Gallery.

The exhibition featured 55 artists and presented 109 artworks selected from 247 submissions that include drawings, paintings, 2D and 3D design, sculpture, ceramic, mixed media, photography, digital media, and short documentary films.

The show was judged by JCC alumnus Nathan Naetzker who received a bachelor's degree in painting from Buffalo State College and a master's degree in fine arts in painting from the New York Academy of Art. He teaches at the University at Buffalo, Buffalo State College, Niagara County and Erie community colleges, and Buffalo Arts Studio.

Award recipients included: Caleb Abrams of Salamanca, Digital Media Excellence; Megan Borgstrom of Portland, Art Survey Excellence; Kayla Grinnell of Russell, PA, Drawing Excellence; Sharise Peacock of Cuba, JRC Alley Gallery Award Frankie Post of Bemus Point, Juror's Drawing Excellence Award; Kathryn Harris of Jamestown, Juror's Drawing Excellence Award; Kaylea Stoeltzing of Jamestown, Painting Excellence; David M. Saporito of Warren, PA, Ceramics Excellence and JRC Alley Gallery awards; Karl Hanson of Ashville, Photography Excellence and JRC Alley Gallery awards; Sarah Schmitz of Mayville, Photography Excellence and JRC Alley Gallery awards; Mindy Drohin of Jamestown, 3D Design Excellence and JRC Alley Gallery awards; Molly Woodfield of Lakewood, 3D Design Excellence and JRC Alley Gallery awards; Catherine Walsh of Jamestown, Ceramics Excellence and Purchase Award; Kyla Hill of Jamestown, Painting Excellence, 2D Design and Best of Show Runner-Up awards; Eric Schneider of Olean, Weeks Gallery Director's Award; and Joshua Clark of Jamestown, JCC Alumni Best of Show and JRC Alley Gallery and Constance Casey awards.
