Friday, March 31, 2017 - 12:35pm has rated JCC’s nursing program among the best in New York state.

JCC was ranked fourth out of 30 schools considered to have top nursing programs in New York. Overall, 99 programs offering associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in nursing were analyzed.

“This honor reflects the work of highly committed faculty to deliver evidence-based nursing education,” notes Kathy Taydus, director of JCC’s nursing education program. “In the end, it is our students who perform well on the NCLEX exam and that leads to successful outcomes for JCC and competent registered nurses for all of us.”

The nursing programs were assessed on the number of graduates who pass the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses. Ranking was determined after an analysis of current and historical NCLEX-RN pass rates for the past five years.

The NCLEX-RN exam, used by all state boards of nursing in the U.S. to help assess a student's competency, is required for licensure.
