John Anderson, Dennis Webster, and Lakeshore Savings Bank will be honored during the JCC Foundation’s annual recognition event on October 24 in JCC’s Student Union.

Reservations for the event can be made by calling the JCC Foundation at 338.1010 or foundation@mail.sunyjcc.edu.

The JCC Foundation will honor Webster and Lake Shore Savings with the Community Partner Award, which recognizes the vital role of individuals and organizations that work collaboratively with JCC to provide educational, social, cultural, and civic enrichment for the area.

Anderson, president of Bodell, Overcash, Anderson & Company, Inc., has supported initiatives provided through JCC, the Allegheny Highland Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Robert H. Jackson Center, Lutheran Social Services, Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua Striders, The Salvation Army, Sunset Hill Cemetery, and the James Prendergast Library Association, among others.

During the past 20 years, Lake Shore Savings contributed to the construction of the Science Center on the Jamestown Campus, established USA Scholarship and athletics scholarship funds for JCC students, and provided funding for other initiatives, including a student-based technology equipment endowment.

Webster, a member of the WJTN Radio broadcasting staff, is the host of High School Bowl, an academic competition for high school students held at JCC. The tournament, which has been on the air for 57 years, included 24 teams from southwestern New York and northwestern Pennsylvania during the 2017-18 academic year.

Webster also hosts several radio shows that focus on programs and services at The Resource Center, Chautauqua County Farm Bureau, James Prendergast Library Association, Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua County 4-H Program, and several community organizations.

Besides working with interns from JCC at the radio station to hone their speaking and interviewing skills, Webster, a graduate of JCC, has contributed his time and energy for many years to the JCC Alumni Association. He received the JCC Distinguished Alumni Award in 1994.

The JCC Foundation is a private, non-profit organization formed in 1983 to manage contributions made on behalf of JCC and to allocate the funds to JCC programs or events that are not included in the college’s operating budget.
