JCC, Empire State Agreement Signed
Monday, December 14, 2020

Students who graduate from JCC’s nursing program can benefit from a transfer agreement with SUNY Empire State College.

The agreement guarantees acceptance of students who graduate with an AAS degree in nursing from JCC, possess an active, unencumbered New York State or Pennsylvania registered nursing license, and complete an Empire State College admissions application.

Empire State will accept all 64 JCC credits required for the associate’s degree toward meeting requirements for the bachelor’s degree. Students can transfer up to 15 additional JCC credits toward meeting BSN requirements, leaving as few as 45 credits to be completed with Empire State.

Empire State may offer upper division courses for students at JCC. Details can be obtained by contacting JCC’s nursing department, 716.338.1170, or visiting www.esc.edu/nursing.

Empire State College, established in 1971, serves mostly working adults pursuing associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. College faculty mentors guide learners in designing an individual degree program within 12 broad areas.

Locally, Empire State College has learning centers in Lakewood, Olean, Fredonia, Buffalo, and Alfred. Details on those sites are available at https://www.esc.edu/locations.

An overview of the transfer agreement is available at www.sunyjcc.edu/transfer/agreements.
