Students and others visiting the Science Center on JCC's Jamestown Campus now have access to a digital stream of information.

Students try out interactive screen in Science Center

An interactive video display in the atrium of JCC’s Science Center offers an array of information related to the JCC's science offerings and the building itself.

Using a stream of water as its primary theme, the touch screen display allows visitors to explore JCC's biotechnology, environmental science, and math/science degree programs as well as discover the green features that earned the building Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification from the United States Green Building Council.

The screen also displays science-related videos from JCC's YouTube channel and science-related images from the college's Flickr photo collection along with relevant Twitter posts.

"Our goal was to create a high tech system that reflects the state-of-the-art facility and celebrates the tremendous connections to science available at JCC," said Jean Schrader, dean of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. "This has become a key tour stop for those interested in learning more about how JCC can prepare them for diverse careers in the natural sciences."

The display was created by White Design Studio of Cincinnati, OH, an acclaimed firm specializing in high tech environment design and wayfaring systems, with members of the college's marketing team.
