Linda Q. Thede will present “The Electronic Health Record and Nursing: Why, What, and How” at 7 p.m. on May 5 in Scharmann Theatre on JCC's Jamestown Campus.

During her presentation, Dr. Thede will discuss the need for an electronic health record and the role nurses can have in planning the record.
Dr. Thede is the author of three books on the use of computer technology and nursing which are used as textbooks in nursing programs: Informatics and Nursing: Competencies and Applications, Informatics and Nursing: Opportunities and Challenges, and Computers in Nursing: Bridges to the Future. She has also published numerous articles in professional publications.
She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Michigan, a master's degree in maternity nursing at Wayne State University, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction/instructional technology at Kent State University. Members of the nursing profession who attend the May 5 program will be granted one continuing education credit which can be used toward Pennsylvania licensing continuing education.
