JCC hosted a gallery opening for the College Connections Student Art Exhibition in JCC’s Weeks Gallery on June 2.

Michael Quigley of Jamestown High School was awarded best of show. Alix Boser and Lauren LaFever, both of BOCES Career & Technical Education Center at Olean, received second and third place awards, respectively. Chloe Kottwitz of Bolivar-Richburg High School and Lauren Michael of Clymer High School received honorable mention awards. 

JCC offers drawing, ceramics, photography, and graphic design courses to 14 area high schools through the College Connections program. Select students in each of these courses were given an opportunity to exhibit their works at JCC.

In addition to the winners, students chosen for the exhibition were: Courtney Brisky and Brock Minard of BOCES Career & Technical Education Center at Olean; Matthew Bouquin, Torey Johnson, Kari Morris, Julia Ozga, and Chloe Reuther of Cassadaga Valley High School; Kamryn Rattler of Clymer High School; Shine Deharder of Jamestown High School; Marisa Nelson, Abbygail Pye, Cassidy Richardson, and Madeline Wight of Maple Grove Junior-Senior High School; and Sydney Beckwith, Alyssa Carlson, and Makayla Dole of Southwestern High School.

Student work was judged on visual communication, design and composition, creativity and originality, and craftsmanship.
