Work Responsibilities

Although my position of Assistant Dean for Social Sciences and Business entails many different kinds of tasks, each of my responsibilities involves the facilitation of processes central to my Division's commitment to providing students with quality teaching/learning opportunities. I collaborate with program coordinators and faculty to facilitate efforts in the following areas.

  • Hire and evaluate new faculty
  • Provide effective student advisement
  • Schedule each semester's courses
  • Review current programs, develop new programs
  • Assess curriculum needs
  • Secure resources required to deliver the curriculum
  • Advance communication between faculty and administration
  • Strengthen faculty leadership

I am also the assistant dean responsible for curriculum assessment, which is an ongoing process to document, explain and if needed, improve student learning.
